Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series is beginning to make headlines, and early leaks are bringing exciting news, especially for battery-conscious users. According to a fresh report, the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge will ship with larger batteries compared to their predecessors, addressing a common complaint among Galaxy fans.
The Galaxy S26 Pro is now expected to pack a 4,300mAh battery, a notable increase from the 4,000mAh unit seen in the Galaxy S25 base model.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 Edge will reportedly carry a 4,200mAh battery, up from the 3,900mAh cell in the S25 Edge. That’s a 300mAh boost for both models, an improvement that could translate to better all-day performance.
The leak originates from GalaxyClub, a reliable source for Samsung insights. The Galaxy S26 Pro, with codename M1 and model number SM-S942, has a rated capacity of 4,175mAh, translating into a typical advertised capacity of 4,300mAh.
As for the Galaxy S26 Edge (codename M2, model number SM-S947), the rated capacity is reportedly 4,078mAh, yielding a typical capacity of 4,200mAh.
For comparison, Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Flip 7 also uses a similar 4,300mAh battery, suggesting a trend toward packing more power in compact devices.
Interestingly, despite the battery increase, the S26 Pro is said to retain its compact form factor. That’s great news for fans of smaller, easier-to-handle flagship phones.
However, it also reinforces the idea that if you want a larger display and even longer battery life, you may need to consider the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is expected to continue with its 5,000mAh battery.
Samsung appears to be shifting its lineup strategy. The traditional base and Plus models might be replaced by the Pro and Edge variants, suggesting a new naming convention with distinct roles for each model.
The Edge seems to be the middle-tier option, offering a balance between size and power, while the Ultra remains the top-tier powerhouse.
The Galaxy S26 series is expected to launch in January 2026, but these early leaks are a promising start. A larger battery paired with Samsung’s expected 2nm chipsets could lead to the most power-efficient Galaxy devices yet.
