Nothing, the hardware startup led by former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, has officially launched its most ambitious device yet, the Nothing Phone (3). Priced at ₹79,999, marking the company’s entry into the high-end smartphone market, the Phone 3 comes with major design and performance upgrades.
“Phone (3) is built to show that there’s still room for joy, identity, and creativity in the tech we carry every day,” said Nothing’s CEO during the product launch event on July 1st in London.
Key highlights include a redesigned back panel, and swapping the brand’s signature Glyph Interface for a fresh Glyph Matrix design.
Nothing Phone 3 Killer Features
- Fast Performance – Runs on Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 (a powerful flagship-level chip)
- Smooth Display – 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate
- Better Glyph Lights – Rear LEDs now work with apps, timers & volume controls
- Clean Software – Nothing OS 3.0 (based on Android 14) for a bloat-free experience
- 50MP Triple Cameras – Improved photo processing over Phone (2)
For photography lovers, the phone packs a triple camera setup with all 50MP sensors. Not only that, but Nothing Phone 3 has also a 50MP front camera.
Problem with the Pricing
What’s turning heads is the pricing. In a market where flagship devices hardly cross the ₹60,000 price point, Nothing’s decision to keep the Phone (3) starting from Rs 79,999 is drawing strong reactions of disbelief.
Many people are posting online stating that the hardware used on the Nothing Phone 3 can be easily found on phones available for under ₹50,000.
With all the bank card discounts and exchange offers, the least you can get the Nothing Phone (3) is for ₹62,999. Even at that price, it is still an expensive phone.
But to be fair, Nothing has a big upper hand on most of the rivals with its no-bloatware OS experience which is one of the best in the market. This time, its camera also seems to be impressive.
There is only one drawback with the processor. The price at which Nothing Phone (3) has been launched, must have the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
This is Nothing’s first true flagship smartphone, which now competes with premium phones like the iPhone 16, Samsung Galaxy S25, and Google Pixel 9. Many users would prefer the iPhone 16 in comparison to the Nothing Phone 3, as it seems more value for money.
