Long time? Yes, it’s been two years since the brand-new Apple launched the ultra model of its smartwatches. But now, the drought era is over, and a new model, the Apple Watch Ultra 3, is coming this September.
This model is set to have a major upgrade after no new Ultra for a year, as Ultra 2 got a new black titanium finish last year.
It’s rumoured that the Apple Watch Ultra 3 will include the same LTPO3 OLED Display as the Series 10, which allows smooth refresh rates and a clear view from different angles.
The major upgrades may include a programmable action button, a smaller ultra model, better battery performance, and a dynamic ‘energy’ score for better health tracking.
It may even get a new chip, S10, or a brand new S11, improving performance and supporting watchOS 26.
This fall, in mid-September, Apple is set to launch the Apple Watch Ultra 3 along with the iPhone 17, and Apple Watch Series 11 on September 8, and pre-orders will start that week itself.

Reports also suggest 5G support in the cellular version for fast data transfer and a high blood pressure sensor that detects hypertension by tracking pressure trends and alerts you if levels go high.
It will also have a satellite messaging feature that lets you send texts through satellite when you’ve no cell or Wi-Fi.
Having satellite connectivity may prove valuable for users living in remote areas with limited cellular coverage; it helps in allowing emergency communication and precise location tracking.
In health monitoring also, Apple was supposed to include a blood oxygen sensor and other tracking tools, but the blood oxygen sensor may be delayed.
If you think about whether to upgrade or not, it completely depends on specific needs and priorities. Ultra 3 can be the best upgrade for people who value features such as improved health tracking, more durability, and connectivity through satellite.
Thinking about additional improvements? There might be some improvements, like faster charging and a redesigned metal back. Ultra 3 shapes up to be the most capable yet, aimed at tools for adventurers, athletes, and anyone who wants to track their health.
