In a fresh round of leaks making waves across the tech community, Apple is reportedly preparing to launch a new variant in its upcoming iPhone 17 lineup, the iPhone 17 Air.

This model is expected to bring a radically thin and lightweight design, with industry sources suggesting it could weigh as little as 135 grams.

The Air variant will likely feature a 6.1-inch OLED display, but in a redesigned, ultra-slim body made of matte titanium, aiming to redefine portability in premium smartphones.

It is said that the most striking detail from the leaks is the rumored absence of the Dynamic Island.

Apple may be moving toward a clean, edge-to-edge display with under-display Face ID technology and a smaller punch-hole front camera.

This would mark a significant step in the evolution of iPhone display design and could pave the way for future truly bezel-less devices.

Under the hood, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to be powered by the next-generation A19 chip, optimized for AI-based tasks in iOS 19.

While it may not include the triple-lens system of the Pro models, the Air will reportedly offer an improved dual-camera setup with smarter computational photography features.

This positions it as a strong option for users who want power and intelligence without the bulk.

This phone aims at users who value minimalism, portability, and performance. The iPhone 17 Air could sit between the base iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Pro in terms of pricing — likely starting around $899 in the U.S.

Apple is expected to unveil the full iPhone 17 lineup, including the Air, in September 2025, with availability beginning soon after.

However, Apple has not officially confirmed any of these details, the consistent nature of the leaks from reliable sources hints that the iPhone 17 Air might indeed be the company’s boldest design shift in years — blending lightness, elegance, and next-gen technology in one sleek device.

If the leaks hold true, the iPhone 17 Air may represent Apple’s boldest form factor experiment since the iPhone X.

With competition heating up in the foldable and AI-driven phone space, Apple’s response seems aimed at blending minimalism with smart functionality.
