WhatsApp is now testing a new feature called “Night Mode” in its camera interface for every Android user to improve photo quality in conditions of low light.
Night mode is known to be a software-based enhancement that adjusts the exposure and then reduces noise in photos taken in dim lighting. It helps you capture more details in shadows when it’s activated without any need for external light sources.

You may now open your WhatsApp camera and check for a moon-shaped icon at the top right corner of the screen when you want to enable night mode.
If you tap the icon, this will activate the night mode camera feature. It’s crucial to understand that night mode doesn’t turn on automatically; users need to do it manually.
The effectiveness of Night Mode may vary, which enhances photo quality in low-light settings. The improvements might be modest in extremely dark environments. It’s not intended to replace professional photography equipment that serves as a convenient tool for daily use.
For Android, Night Mode is now tested in WhatsApp’s beta version. It will roll out to more users in the coming weeks, expectedly. Through the Google Play Store, Users can be able to join the WhatsApp beta program to access this feature.
