Motorola has finally launched the Edge 60 smartphone in India on June 10th, after introducing the phone in April alongside the Motorola Edge 60 Pro.

It is the successor to last year’s popular phone Motorola Edge 50, and sits just below the powerful Edge 60 Pro with a selling price of ₹25,999.

I purchased the Edge 50 in September 2024 and have been using it as my primary smartphone for the last eight months. It’s a great phone with a premium design, a good camera, a decent battery life with fast charging, and a balanced performance.

Motorola Edge 60 has many upgrades in comparison to the Edge 50, and based on my usage of its predecessor, I’ll be guiding you on whether you should consider buying the newly launched Motorola Edge 60 or stay with last year’s Edge 50.

Motorola Edge 60 Specifications

The new smartphone, Motorola Edge 60, features an upgraded camera setup and display, along with some in-built AI tools in comparison to the Edge 50. The company also focuses on the same features to be the top reasons to buy the new phone.

The specifications look great at first glance, and the Motorola Edge 60 is going to be a popular smartphone because of the camera setup and some minor upgrades in display, battery, and performance.

Motorola Edge 60 vs Edge 50 Comparison

There are many upgrades and even some downgrades in the Motorola Edge 60 in comparison to the Edge 50.

The very first thing is the upgraded 50MP Ultrawide camera with f/2.0 aperture from a 13MP, f/2.2 Ultrawide lens in the Edge 50.

Another upgrade is the battery with 5500mAh capacity, which is 500mAh more. But one feature is missing; the Motorola Edge 50 has 15W wireless charging also.

The Edge 60 also discounts on connectivity features, with NFC being taken away, and Wi-Fi 6E is being replaced with the standard Wi-Fi 6.

Overall, the newly launched Motorola Edge 60 is a great smartphone, especially if your priority is camera, good battery life, and balanced performance. It has Moto AI features also, so it will be a good deal around the budget of 25,000 Rupees.

Note

If you currently own a Motorola Edge 50, then upgrading to Edge 60 doesn’t make much sense. It would be better if you use it for some more time, and then go for its pro series.

My Review

I’ve been using the Motorola Edge 50 for eight months now, and the phone is overall a great deal, offering a premium design with a curved display, good camera quality, and balanced performance at its price.

One issue I would like to mention is the heating problem. Most of the Motorola users, even in Flipkart reviews, appreciate its camera quality and other things, but they are frustrated with its heating problem.

If you are a casual user and don’t do long gaming sessions, then you can go for the Motorola smartphone. The company has been launching many amazing phones for a while now, and its performance is improving with every release.
