Alleged images showcasing the internal design of the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro Max have surfaced online, potentially offering an early glimpse of what Apple might unveil next month.
The leak comes from the account “yeux1122” via a blog post on the Korean platform Naver. While the account is known for aggregating Apple rumors and leaks, it is unclear whether these images originate from an official source. As such, their authenticity remains uncertain, and they should be viewed cautiously.
The images suggest that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature a metal-covered battery, a design previously rumored to improve heat dissipation during heavy use. Apple already uses this technology in the iPhone 16 Pro, but the standard iPhone 16 lineup still relies on traditional black foil battery covers.
Interestingly, the leaked photos show two possible battery shapes. One is L-shaped for models that retain a physical SIM card tray, while the other appears more rectangular for units without a SIM slot, which may include U.S. variants.
Reports also indicate that the iPhone 17 Pro Max battery might be removable using a low-voltage electrical current, similar to the method used in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. This could simplify repair and replacement, aligning with global trends toward right-to-repair policies.
The images further hint at a significantly larger camera bump, consistent with earlier rumors of Apple introducing upgraded camera hardware in the iPhone 17 series. The repositioned MagSafe system and charging port are also visible in the leak, matching design expectations for the new flagship.
While these photos align with several previous leaks, it’s worth noting that they might not be official CAD files from Apple. Nonetheless, they reinforce speculation about the iPhone 17 Pro Max design and internal changes.
Apple is widely expected to unveil the iPhone 17 series in September 2025, with the Pro Max model taking center stage thanks to its advanced hardware and camera upgrades.
