Samsung is finally accelerating its Android 16 rollout after a longer-than-expected delay. The company has now expanded the One UI 8 beta program to more Galaxy devices from its 2024 lineup, with India confirmed as one of the next markets to receive the update.
The One UI 8 journey began earlier this year, with the first beta arriving on the Galaxy S25 series in May. The stable version has already made its way to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. However, Samsung had been quiet about broader device support, until now.
Devices Getting One UI 8 Beta
The expanded beta program now includes the following Galaxy models from 2024:
- Galaxy S24
- Galaxy S24+
- Galaxy S24 Ultra
- Galaxy Z Fold 6
- Galaxy Z Flip 6
As of now, the beta is live in the UK and South Korea, with a wider rollout planned in the coming days. India, along with the US, is officially confirmed to receive the update soon. This is welcome news for Indian Galaxy users eager to test Samsung’s latest software features ahead of the stable release.
While Samsung has not announced an exact launch date for India, industry insiders suggest the beta could arrive in the country within the next week. Users with eligible devices will be able to join the beta program through the Samsung Members app.
Samsung is expected to begin stable One UI 8 updates in September, starting with the Galaxy S25 series, followed by other 2024 models.
Alongside the expanded beta rollout, Samsung is also preparing a new beta build for the Galaxy S25 series. Additionally, leaks indicate that the Galaxy S23 series will join the beta program in the first week of September, a move that could bring Android 16’s features to even more users before the year ends.
With India being one of Samsung’s largest markets, the upcoming beta release is expected to see strong participation from early adopters and tech enthusiasts across the country.
