Oppo’s upcoming flagship, the Find X9 Ultra, is expected to launch with a major battery upgrade over its predecessor, the Find X8 Ultra. According to a well-known tipster, the new model will feature a higher-capacity dual-cell battery while maintaining a slim design.
The device is expected to debut in the coming months alongside the Oppo Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, bringing top-tier performance and premium hardware to the table.
Bigger Battery, Same Charging Speeds
Tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that the Find X9 Ultra will likely feature a 7,000mAh dual-cell battery, made up of two 3,425mAh cells.
Despite the boost in capacity, Oppo is expected to retain the same charging speeds as the Find X8 Ultra, 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Reverse wireless charging is also expected, though exact specifications remain unconfirmed.
The tipster claims the dual-cell configuration will be stacked to help keep the phone’s thin profile, a notable engineering move for such a large battery.
How It Compares to the Find X8 Ultra
The current Find X8 Ultra comes with a 6,100mAh battery, 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. That model did not see an India release last year.
If the leak is accurate, the Find X9 Ultra’s jump to 7,000mAh could deliver significantly longer usage times without sacrificing charging convenience.
Camera Upgrades Expected
Earlier reports suggest that the Find X9 Ultra could sport a quad rear camera setup with two 200MP sensors and two 50MP dual-periscope lenses offering adjustable focal lengths.
The primary camera is tipped to feature a 1/1.3-inch sensor capable of 3x optical zoom, potentially making it one of the most versatile smartphone cameras on the market.
For comparison, the Find X8 Ultra features a Hasselblad-tuned camera system with four 50MP lenses, primary, ultra-wide, 3x telephoto, and periscope, alongside a 32MP selfie camera.
Display and Performance
Like its predecessor, the Find X9 Ultra is expected to sport a flat display. It may be powered by Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset (codenamed SM8850), promising top-notch performance for flagship users.
For context, the Find X8 Ultra has a 6.82-inch AMOLED LTPO display with 2K resolution (3,168 × 1,440 pixels), Dolby Vision, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1,600 nits peak brightness.
With the Find X9 Ultra’s bigger battery, upgraded camera system, and flagship processor, Oppo appears set to deliver one of its most powerful smartphones yet.
