Apple fans, mark your calendars. If the latest leaks are to be believed, the iPhone 17 series could be unveiled on September 9. Although Apple hasn’t made an official announcement yet, a fresh report from German publication iPhone-ticker.de claims to have inside details from mobile carriers confirming the date.
This leak lines up with Apple’s usual September launch pattern and echoes previous predictions, including insights from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who hinted at an event between September 8 and 12. If accurate, pre-orders could begin on September 12, with official sales kicking off on September 19.
Four New Models Expected
The upcoming iPhone 17 lineup is expected to consist of four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
According to rumors, the standard iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air will likely run on the A19 chip, while the more advanced A19 Pro chipset is reserved for the Pro models, continuing Apple’s strategy of differentiating performance tiers.
Bigger Screens and Sleeker Design
As for display sizes, leaks suggest a 6.3-inch screen size on iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro, a 6.5-inch on iPhone 17 Air, and a 6.9-inch display on iPhone 17 Pro Max.
A key highlight is the iPhone 17 Air, which may feature an ultra-slim battery design, pointing to Apple’s ongoing focus on sleek, lightweight devices. Design-wise, aluminium frames are expected for the iPhone 17, Air, and Pro, while the Pro Max may stick with a premium titanium body, offering a more luxurious feel.
While no official pricing has been revealed, leaks hint that all models except the base iPhone 17 could see a $50 price increase (roughly ₹4,000) compared to the iPhone 16 series. This could be attributed to hardware upgrades and the new design improvements.
Apple is also expected to use the September event to unveil other new hardware. These include the Third-generation AirPods Pro and new Apple Watch models.
These products will likely launch alongside the iPhone 17 series, making the event a major highlight in Apple’s yearly calendar.
Looking back, Apple has consistently launched its flagship iPhones in early to mid-September. Last year’s iPhone 16 series debuted on September 9 during the “It’s Glowtime” event, which gives further credibility to the rumored launch window.
