Adobe has finally launched the Photoshop mobile app for Android, featuring many of its legacy photo editing tools available on its desktop software. The app is currently in beta version, and all Android users can download it from the Google Play Store.

Photoshop has been one of the most used photo editing software for over three decades, and even today, there’s no alternative to match its capabilities. But many apps have entered the space for mobile users, and Adobe is now trying to provide the same iconic features who want to edit their photos on the go using smartphones.

The new Photoshop mobile app includes its desktop version’s tools like layering, masking, selections, retouching, and the recently popular feature of Generative Fill, powered by Firefly, its creative AI model.

Photoshop mobile aims to help designers who prefer to work on their smartphones to create quick projects, from making a YouTube video thumbnail to a cover art, logo, or even editing an image with retouching tools.

The app is synced with Adobe Creative Cloud, providing flexibility to its desktop users to access Adobe Stock assets and generative credits to make quick edits on the go.

As the app is in beta version, Adobe is also giving access to some of the premium tools of Photoshop mobile for a limited period of time. For example, you can use its Generative Fill and background removal features for now for free.

This is going to be a great deal for mobile-first creators and designers, as now Photoshop’s iconic tools like Magic Wand, Object Select, Spot Healing Brush, Clone Stamp, and other advanced editing tools can be used on a smartphone.

Give it a try if your device is running Android 11 or later and has a minimum of 6GB of RAM, but 8GB or more RAM is recommended by Adobe for optimal performance of the Photoshop (beta) app.
