Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi 15 5G in India, strengthening its affordable smartphone lineup with major upgrades in performance, display, software, and battery life. The new device succeeds last year’s Redmi 13 5G, promising a better experience for users who want premium features at a budget price.
The Redmi 15 5G price in India starts at Rs 14,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model. It is also available in 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants, priced at Rs 15,999 and Rs 16,999, respectively.
The phone will be available starting August 28 through Amazon, mi.com, and Xiaomi retail stores across the country. Buyers can choose between three color options — Midnight Black, Frosted White, and Sandy Purple.
At its core, the Redmi 15 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage that can be expanded further. This ensures smooth multitasking, reliable performance, and efficient power usage.
On the front, the smartphone sports a massive 6.9-inch LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate, making it the largest and smoothest display in its price segment. The screen is also certified by TÜV Rheinland for Low Blue Light, Flicker-Free, and Circadian Friendly use, helping reduce eye strain during extended viewing.
One of the key highlights of the Redmi 15 5G is its 7,000mAh silicon carbon battery, making it the slimmest smartphone in India with such a massive battery. The phone supports 33W fast charging with the included adapter and also offers 18W reverse wired charging, allowing users to power other devices on the go.
For photography, the Redmi 15 5G features a dual AI camera setup. This includes a 50MP primary sensor with f/1.75 aperture alongside a secondary sensor for depth. On the front, it carries an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.
The camera software is enhanced with AI-powered features like AI Erase and AI Sky, along with a variety of filters for creative shots. The phone’s aerospace-grade metal camera deco adds a premium touch, while the IP64 rating provides resistance against dust and water.
The Redmi 15 5G runs on HyperOS, based on Android 15, and comes preloaded with Gemini AI features and Circle to Search for enhanced usability. Xiaomi has promised two years of OS updates and four years of security patches, ensuring longer support for users.
With its Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 SoC, 144Hz large display, massive 7,000mAh battery, and reliable software support, the Redmi 15 5G sets a new benchmark in the affordable smartphone category.
At a starting price of Rs 14,999, it combines performance, design, and durability, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious users in India.
